Right place wrong time

I turned down the writing gig today. It wasn’t a paid gig, but it was a writing-related job nevertheless. With NaNoWriMo starting in November and October already knocking on my door, I didn’t want to commit to anything new. If the job is still available in December, then I will try to pick it up. As much as I want the job, it is more important to focus on my NaNo project. I keep saying that my writing is important; time for me to act like it.

While I was bummed out about having to say thanks, but no thanks, to the writing position, I do feel good knowing that at least my writing was a small blip on someone’s radar. It was the right motivation at the right time.
